Utranazz Launches New Sermac Superlight 46m Boom Concrete Pump
Utranazz, the concrete equipment specialist, has added the new Sermac model 5RZ46 Superlight truck-mounted concrete pump to its range. The sophisticated lightweight structure of the 5RZ46 has been achieved through the use of S900 special steel, which allows the 46m reach, 5 section multi-fold boom to be mounted onto an 8x4 cab chassis and still weigh under 32 tons, keeping it within the UK weight limit.
The 5RZ46 Superlight has been specifically designed to meet market demands for maximum versatility. The multi-fold ‘RZ’ boom design combines both roll-fold and z-fold opening for extreme manoeuvrability and allows the boom to open into its full reach of 45.1m at the exceptionally low height of 9.10m. The short wheelbase of 4.8m also makes it remarkably agile to drive considering the size of the boom. This makes it the ideal pump for placing concrete in the most awkward and confined spaces.
The new 5RZ46 Superlight has a maximum output of 150 cubic metres per hour and can discharge concrete at a horizontal reach of 41.1m and a downward reach of –33.1m. The hydraulic stabiliser legs have also been designed so that the pump can set up in minimal ground space (rear 8.0m, front 8.3m). This, combined with the flexibility of the boom, means that the pump is able to work on a wide variety of projects from tunnelling and small DIY building jobs right up to concrete placement at 14 storeys high.
In addition, the 5RZ46 benefits from the Sermac soft-stroke pumping system. This enables soft pumping with a continual flow of concrete over long distances (up to 500m) of static pipeline. This ensures movement is minimal at the end of each changeover stroke, which in turn makes the pipeline easier to control for operators and makes the placement of concrete a cleaner process.
